Thinking about buying a 95 burb need help

I'm currently looking at a 1995 Suburban 4x4, 350, 1/2ton for a daily driver & occasional towing. My questions are how will it tow a 6000lb trailer, I know a 3/4ton version with a 454 would be better, but I'm getting a deal on this one. The trailer is a 18ft flat bed with my race truck on it. I have plenty of room to move the truck back & forth on the trailer to adjust how much weight is on the suburban or trailer should I look into getting a weight distribution hitch also? I know it would help, but I was just wondering if it would be mandatory, I only go to the track about once or twice a month between April & October which is around 100mi round trip with not many hills. I would also like to be able to tow this to a out of town race once a year that is about a 500mi round trip. Also are there any performance parts that I can add to get a little more pulling power out of it & still retain daily drive ability, like replacing the engine driven cooling fan with an electric on, shorty headers & a 3" single exhaust with a hi flow cat & aftermarket muffler, K&N filter, power pulleys......etc. Now for the daily driving part, what kind of gas mileage should this truck get, I don't know if it has 3.42 or 3.73 gears. I would like to get around 15mpg empty. Basically I know it won't pull like a 454 or diesel or get the gas mileage of a S-10, I would just like for it to do a little of everything decently. It currently has 139xxx miles, should I be looking for any common problems with these, I have never owned a Chevy truck before. Thank you guys for any advise.

Forget all of that mod stuff on it.
Save that for your race car.
If your are going to tow with it put the biggest Radiator and transmission oil cooler on it you can get to fit it.
And no towing in overdrive.
As to the gas mileage some do better than others.
You might want to test drive it before buying it.
