Tire Pressure

I just purchased a new silverado crew cab. I was just wondering what is the best tire pressure to run. It is a 4x4 with Bridgestone Duelars. I am better to run the max pressure located on the side of the tire, or go with the gm recomendation the the driver side door. I am mostly wanting to make the tires last as long as possible.

it's july so if you go with max press. cold after you run down the hot road it's too high. some door sticker pressures are unrealistic (ford explorer 26psi) the tires were not the problem. after one leaked off too 18 psi after running 2hrs at 85mph kaplowie!!! go figure. you want to adjust press. to your load.just driving air them the same about 10 psi below max.
heres the bad news you are going to buy tires at 30,000 or less. those seem to be some special cheap a$$ tires. yeah you can buy Bridgestone replacements and get good mileage you won't see it out of those

Don't waste your money or time on these accu-pressure caps. My girlfriend had them put on her new Toyota Rav4, she had a blowout and the cap still showed green. They were about 2 or 3 months old.

Yeah, what's the deal with that? Every new car I've ever owned, except the Passat I had that came with Michelins, I had to replace the tires within like 25000. On my old Ranger, I went with the same Firestone model as stock, and got 40000+ out of the second set. Do they ship with less tread or something from the factories? Maybe it's just that we all drive more aggressively with new cars.:evillol:

The tires that came on my silverado are a dog. Yea, they are lasting ok, 30,000 miles and still good tread, but I don't drive it hard, and mostly highway. But, when it is wet, even a little bit, they have no traction. I can spin a wheel on a wet highway from a stop without even hitting the gas. And that's when going straight, if I'm turning, all I gotta do is let off the brakes. Don't get me started on snow. Oh, yea, and it's the 4.3, so definitely not too much power.
Yea,yea, I know, it's light on the rear end, but it shouldn't be that bad.
I run mine at 35, it's what the door says, and I stick to that.
Anybody know of good replacement tires when the time comes?

I've had very bad cupping on my front tires (OEM Goodyear Wrangler ST) running 35 PSI. 40 seems to be better for evening out the load, tires are so badly cupped that the outer edges don't even make road contact anymore. Definitely won't be starting off my next set at 35!
