96 F-150 Performance Chip Question

I have a 96' F150 with the 351, and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a performance chip that could be added with little head-ache to improve MPG and power?? Also, what is typically involved with adding something like this? Some people have told me that you only have to insert the chip and with the remote module that comes with the chip, connect to the diag. connector and set the set-points.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated...
