97 avalon air bag light

I own a 97 avalon xl that has 192,000 miles on. About two months ago i ran out of gas when i filled my tank and turned on my car my air bag light turned on and hasn't turned off since any help will be greatly appreciated. I took the car to the dealer and they told me the air bag didn't have anything to do with the gas (duh like I didn't know that already):screwy: so there shouldn't be any problem with my air bags yet the light is still on.:banghead:

There you will find troubleshooting procedures and specifically a procedure to reset the light that you can do in your driveway. Make sure you read it all and follow all precautions. There are dangers involved in working on this system.

The dealer should have read the fault codes for you/determined the problem/and given an estimate or at least reset the light for you.

Remember an Avalon is just a stretched Camry.
