Parking Brake Parts

Had some catastrophic failure of my parking brake today. It looks like the left rear cable has a threaded part that goes into the 'splitter' which has completely rusted away. Does anyone know what this splitter thing is actually called and if there's anything particular I'd have to know to replace it? i.e. how are these connections swaged to the cable?

Sounds like the equalizer link, NAPA has just about all these parts.

Great, thanks! No wonder I couldn't find it online...seems to only be availa ble from the dealer.

As I look at it more closely I'm thinking I might only have to replace the cable, but since no one stocks the replacements for me to look at perhaps someone here can help me out. The equalizer, on the side that goes to the driver's wheel, looks like a small pipe with two holes on either side. Presumably there's a nut that fits through these holes that the cable screws into? I don't suppose anyone has a picture of their intact setup?

GM part numbers on the parts you may need are as follows:
The equalizer is 15714664
The front cable is 10290387
The right rear cable is 10421016
The left rear cable is 10421015

The only part you may have trouble getting is the front cable, which GM shows as a VPI part, meaning it's on the list to be discontinued once available stock is depleted. I'm sure the cables are available aftermarket as well, but the equalizer may not.
