I can't really find any good info from searching. My g/f is getting new seats for her 90 si and I want her seats for my 89 dx (both crxs) So would it be a straight change over or is there more work involed..like the seat pans? If anyone has any experience on the subject please enlighten me. :)

You might have to swap over the seat pans....but I'm not 100% on that. I just know that my ex bought me a set of '88-89 CRX Si seats for my hatch & they wouldn't work. Everything about the way they mounted was different. I ended up trading them to Kris for some '90-91 h/b Si seats...

You should be able to just look at the way the seats mount in your gf's car & compare that to how the seats in your car mount up. I'm willing to bet $$ the seat rails are totally different...

Yeah, I have a set of 91 SI seats and my DX rails dont match up at all, only one bolt hole on each, and there is about a 2" gap between the seat and rail on the other end..plus one hole is about 2" too far out.

hmm that sucks. So it can't be done? Even if I switched the seat pans? :( Surely there is somebody here who has rigged it somehow to work ??? From afew threads I've seen on honda-tech it looks like I can just put my 89 pans on the si seats and then they'll bolt in.

Im not quite sure what you mean by the seat pans? You mean the actualy plate under the seat? Because if thats all you have to do then hell, I can get these damn things out of my house and into my car, before somethign bad happens too em..they are in too good of a condition to have the cat use em as a scratching post.

UMMM..not much to tell guys it is a straight swap over.. 90 SI Seats >>>> 89 DX..I don't see what all the seat pan swaping garbage on Honda-Tech was about...same seat pans..same mounting points..took me like a hour and a half to do. I don't see how people were saying it was off "2 inches" It looks like it at first but you gotta adjust the rails so the 4 holes line up with the holes on the floor... well that's about it :)

Not on mine dude...the rail isnt only not the right length..but it has a gap between the seat pan and rail on the front right (when siting in it) mounting hole..its like ann inch at least..

yeah..well i dunno maybe yours is special and different. But what I did is 1st bolt in one of the holes (cause only one lined up at first) then just grab the little lever under the seat and move the seat back and forth til they line up with the holes...i'll take more pics if u don't beleive me..the four holes in the floor are in the exact same spots in my 89 dx and her 90 si..I ever put my dx seats in her car til her "racing seats" get here..lol

and I feel like I'm kicking a dead horse but I'm telling you..you dont' gotta swap the pans..just bolt one in and move the rails til they line up. Messure your rails with a tape measurer they must be the same lengths.. I don't see how your's could be different then mine.

Dude..the floor pattern was the same..I pulled the seat and even tried to bolt the rails to it ut of the car, they just would not bolt to the seat, whatsoever. and I couldnt just slide em back and forth, the upper part of the rail (seat side) is one piece.
