Well, I thought I had this problem resolved when I had to replace the belt on my car, but it didn't. If i take of from a red light, and the air is on, it all of a sudden gets warm, and at the same time, it seems like im in between drive and neutral, then like 7 seconds later, everythings fine. and ideas on what it could be? Sorry if I didnt explain it really good, but its really hard to describe.

Might need a recharge and some lube in hte AC system.
Most auto parts stores sell a recharge/oil kit.
ITs kind of a PITA gettting to the line on the AC, its back on the firewall , from the passenger side.
Just hav to hav the car running while recharging, gets kinda hot back thier, because the hose that comes with the KIT isnt very long, and you need to watch the gauge on the refill can.
Also with the AC on, the car will really sucks on performance
even my V6s seem like 2cyls w/AC on :grinyes: No passing power either.
But Id try the refill and also check your fuses/relays for the AC thiers a relay/fuse under the hood for the compressor.
Hope this helps !

Before you recharge your system, have the system checked for proper gauge readings. There may be something else wrong with the system.

I got a recharge kit, and the system is fully charged... So im outta ideas. I really don't wanna take it to the stealership, espically since the dealer I usually take it to doesn't sell or service pontiacs anymore:banghead: Any ideas?

My GA had similiar problems, my A/C would blow hot air when idling and the water temp would gradually get hot, but when I started to drive down the road it would blow cold air and the water temp would drop. At first, I suspected the expansion valve was stuck open, but then I remembered that our escort was doing the same thing and come to find out, the radiator fan was not working. I pulled my fan out and hooked power to it and what do know, the fan was not working. I replaced the fan and it was fixed. Maybe this info will help you out. :)
