There isn't anything technical about it, at least when you don't have a tach.
Even then, its not really so much technical as it is "feeling" your car. Best way to improve your time is to go out to the strip and practice it.

Yeah there is too many x factors involed with anyones car to give any clear cut THIS is how you get a perfect launch. There are things to consider such as tires, the trees timing how deep or shallow into stage are you. Theres just alot involed. Its just one of those go out and do it sort of things. You need to hit the track and feel out the lights with your car. Mix things up and try alot of different approaches to it. Mostly just dont be afraid to red light it a few dozen times before you get it down right.
My best to date is a .003 launch. Since I dont have the fastest car on the planet I like to make sure my launches are as tight as possible off the line.

in my town, if i got caught by the police racing some punk teenager, then i got caught racing a van full of kids with their mother driving, the van full of kids race would bring the greater punishment, and it should, cuz thats just fucking dumb

you all have to understand that i don't get to 2nd gear for about 6-7 seconds @ 35mph. and i don't have a tach...
only speeding tickets i got were 35 in a 30 (case dismissed) and 29 in a 20 school zone (i just paid that one)

what i'm saying is that there is little to no danger when you're racing at or below the speed limit. and the driver of the van isn't really racing you.

alright, ill agree with that, but thats not really racing, i have no problem with just flying around some dumb cunt on her cell phone with a van full of kids going 15 under the speed limit (which i think is also dangerous, driving 15 under the speed limit)
