Ok so i bought my civic about 2 months ago, for a steal of a deal but the engine light was on. Started driving it about a week ago and just didnt feel like it should. So i took it to canadian tire and got it scanned, found that my O2 sensor is 1. not hooked into my header, 2. haha that its gone. So is there anything i can do other then buy a new sensor. I asked a performance shop and say said O2 Simulator will work. Any idea where i can find one.. :banghead: Want my car to be running right any thing would help :D

Just get an 02 sensor. They are like $50. Unless you're saying that the header you have doesn't have a bung for the 02, in which case you should buy a bung and have it welded on.

The O2 sim will not work on the primary sensor, lol. Thats the one that tells the ECU how much fuel to give. The secondary O2 is to make sure the cat is working ok, doesnt have anything to do with the engine's fuel/timing curve. It wont have a secondary O2 sensor if its a pre 96 car probably. You will need a sensor bung welded to the exhaust tube and a new sensor.

What year Civic do you have? Are you using the stock ECU? An oxygen simulator is really only needed when running a test cat, you should always use an O2 sensor, it allows the car to run in closed loop and also make changes to the short and long term fuel trims in the ECU. If the header you purchased doesn't have an O2 bung, be sure to weld a new bung in a place that it will "see" exhaust from all 4 cylinders.
