Looks really good, I have yet to spray a black car but imagine it's really difficult to get a decent finish as it shows every imperfection.

Yours looks ok even in bright sunshine, presumably you either rubbed it down following painting with 1200+ grit paper and/or some sort of cutting compound?

Did you think about doing the white lettering on the rear tyres?

YA I thought about doing the lettering, but every time i have tried it turns out terrible. I did use the Tamiya rubbing compunds on the car. on the paint and the on the clear as well. The tamiya Ts line of paints spray really well and There was very little orange peel. I was hesitant about using the black as well, but the wife convinced me.I'm glad I tried

Hey, i have that same kit.

I was wondering, how did your rollbar go together? The middle piece ( the one with the 2 poles sticking out the back was way shorter than the top piece. How did you put yours together? Pics of it?

The roll Cage goes together easily. it looks like it wont work when you look at the pieces, but it fits nicely. just make sure you set it in the interior so it dries in the correct position for you.

Nice job!
Is this kit still in production?
How did you detail the "SuperSport" scripts on the rear fenders...they look very clean!

Well the scripts were done with silver paint and a really fine brush........I wish. The cross flag emblems and ss scripts are decals from the kit. It sure is nice to have them, other wise I wouldnt be touching them. I left the moulded scripts there and applied the decal over top,I think this helps the decals to look more 3 dimensional.

I Have the same exact kit already done but its the old one it doesnt have flames it came in green and had this decal that said "Maxx Rat" for the side. It was totally and 80's pro street car like they had with the neon paints and ugly graphics. yours turned out killer.

love it!!! got any pics of the engine? I know it's oob, but I'd like to see what kind of detail painting went into the engine bay. I have built several of these, and none have turned out this nice!!! I always had problems with the front end not fitting right.

I Dont have any engine pics at all. I didnt do anything special. I didnt even wire the engine. I remember the MAXX RATT kit, I built it way back when i was 15 turned out like s...The front end fit together quite well. I modified the front end to get a slight rake to it.The only problem i had was fitting the headers. One sits slightly lower than the other. Other tan that the lit wnet together without a hitch.

Just found this after looking at the recent completed projects 67 Chevelle. Great finish, looks smart. I wish I'd got the Revell version instead of the AMT one I have. I've dry fitted the bumpers and they stick out the side far too much so lots of sanding to do. Body shape good though, typical AMT!

did those wheels come in this kit

Dean23

ya the wheels and tires are all part of the kit..... I have a secret prostreet project that is part way started as well...... a combination of 2 kits to make a wicked prostreet...something that you would hardly ever see done as a prostreet car.... stay tuned
