here is what i want to ask :grinyes: lol
i started to use colored penciles and succede to make it kinda smooth but not as smooth as i want it to be. , i'v tried to use over the colored penciles a 10% cool gray marker but i checked the marker on clean white paper and it almost didnt worked at all and i mean it! :frown: it made the colored pencile actually look alot smoother , smooth as color marker but with some gray affect.... so what can i replace with my trusty marker???
oh ya , forget the idea of water , i hate that , the last time i used colored pencils with water i had to throw one of my cars away:nono:
thx for the help SI

Well, you could try to blend the colors when your drawing by coloring in small circular motions. in stead of back and forth, just go slowly win a very small circle witha clockwise motion. Then the colors will be more continuousand smooth without resorting to using other media. Just a thought if you see what Im getting at.

Can't go wrong with Prismacolors. THey blend well and are really soft when using it on paper.
THey blend well to be simple. :D I believe some of you guys seen my Tiburon drawing.

buy real drawing paper. when i do black and white (graphite pencils 2B-6B) i use a paper towel to blend. not quite pro, but it does the job for a hobbyist like me.

don't use smooth paper. Try experimenting with burnishing - going over an area with white using heavy pressure to get rid of the grain. Make sure you have at least a few layers of color before you do this.

I use this site to search for art media.
colored pencils

Paper

Paper makes big diffrence in drawing. On some, lines looks clean and on others no matter how hard you try lines will be smudging. Maybe try paper that isn't smoothest and not with visible texture.

 $167.98 for 120 colored pencils.
Have you tried to use colored markers like Chip Foose ? Markers are even more expensive :frown:

I don't mean to go OT, but that's some great shading on the tiburon. I thought it was a filtered photo.
