Should the ABS light come on at start-up?

I have a 1993 GMC Sonoma with a 2.5L EFI engine and rear ABS brakes.
When the truck first starts, some of the dash lights come on briefly and then turn off (e.g., check engine, check gauges, battery, etc.). But the ABS light does not turn on. I've had the truck two years, and the ABS light has never come one. It's not a burned out bulb - I've had the instrument cluster apart to replace other burned out bulbs and the ABS bulb works fine.
Should the ABS light come on at start-up? Is there some way to check that the circuit is working?
Thanks,
Rob

hi not sure bu7t yes on start up all lights are suppose to come on to show they are operational [ alternative ] you can try empty parking lot run it-- slam on brakes if it squeels then your anti brakes are not working correctly, Stiletto

Just checked mine... My ABS light comes on for about 2 seconds with the rest of the lights and turns off once all the initial diags are done.
