Ok I knnow this should be easy but I'm having a hell of a time getting to my air filter to clean it. I cant get the lower plastic (inner fender?) cover off to get to it. I tried to go in from above by taking the headlight out but cannot locate the third bolt that holds it in place.:banghead: I got new bulbs for them but I have to remove the whole assembly to install them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Yours is probably the same as mine. I have replaced my headlights multiple times and i haveyet to figure out how to get the whole lamp out.
I finnally said screw it and didnt want to waste my time anymore. If it is that hard to get out, then there is no point in trying to take the whole thing out.
But it is still hard to get the headlight out too without touching the bulb.

lol Yea u have to unbolt the bumper under the fenderwell and kinda pull it to the side to get to the third bolt that holds it in place. The driverside lamp is kind of a pain in the ass to put back in for some reason. My filter sits directly underneath it in the fenderwell. It was fuckin filthy lol. It starts faster and runs a hell of a lot better now though. My gas milage has went back up to normal too. I cant wait to change the brake pads lol. I wonder what kind of surprises I'll come across.

yeah dude, the headlight is garbage to get to. I had a burnt out headlight, and i went to valvoline for them to change it because i didnt want to do it. One of my buddys worked there, so i had him do it.
Well him and his boss couldnt get it, so i had to get out, and do it myself. but they gave me a free oil change and a free headlight :)
Is the filter pretty hard to get at too? mine is right on the top. I wonder why they make such bad designs...

next time go from the underside, remove the plastics (if you are still using them) and take the filter off that way; it bends up into the fender there you can loosen the filter and take it off no sweat. speaking of which i should clean hers, i dont recall do the injens use k&n?

No I got a short ram. I dont need to do all the putting it through the engine stuff. It is just right on the top. I have one of those foam filters like the HKS

The Vibe and Matrix are made in the same plant. The Vibe GT = Matrix XRS

lol, yea most people don't know that actually the vibe/matrix was a joint venture where toyota built most of the car but GM did have a little part in designing it.
