Yesterday I tried to install a CD player in my car, and unaware of the adapters available, I clipped the plugs off of the ends of the wires and unsuccesfully hooked them up to the cd player. After this attempt, my spedometer, odometer, and interior lights dont work. I looked at the fuses and out of the few I could get out I replaced the one blown one. This fixed nothing noticeable, and I dont know what to do. Please give me some advice... Thanks!

Use a test light to make sure the rest of the fuses are good and are getting power. You don't have to take the fuses out to check them with a test light. You will notice two slots next to the amperage rating on the fuses. Put the probe of the test light into the slots to test the fuses in the fuse boxes. If you have power in one slot and not the other then most likely the fuse is blown. Fuse pullers are sold in autoparts stores, usually with an assortment of fuses.

Sounds like a good plan. Now, can you kind of explain to me what is and where I can get a test bulb? Sorry, my first car and I'm just overwhelmed with these stupid problems. Also, I removed the cd player yesterday, and for a minute after I turned the van on all of the interior problems were fixed (everything except the rear wiper whose button got lost inside of the dashboard :uhoh: ), and then they stopped working again...:banghead: .

Sounds like while installing your CD player you might have knocked some wires loose or moved some loose connections. Autoparts stores, Wallmart, K-mart, etc. may have a test light. It looks like an ice pick with a wire coming out of the handle. Attach the aligator clip to the body (metal strap, bolt head, etc) of your vehicle and then use the sharp point to touch the fuse. If there is power the handle will light up.
