97 grand cherokee 6 cylinder A/C prob

Whenever I run the A/C, the next morning the passenger floor is soaking wet. A buddy told me that there is probably a blockage in the exhaust?

Where can I find this to unclog it? Thanks..

It's actually a DRAIN for the water that condenses when you run the AC.

If you look low in the engine compartment, you should see a small tube coming through the firewall on the passenger side. That tube is the drain for the AC/Heater Housing assembly. That is what is most likely clogged. Could be leaves or some other dirt.

The best way I have found to clear it is to take a small rigid wire and CAREFULLY push it in there from the outside. Then twist it around to loosen up the blockage. It may take several tried, but if done right (and after running the AC for a while), you should see water start to drip out.

Another method I have heard of (but not used) is to blow compressed air up that tube.

I say be CAREFUL because you don't want to poke a hole in the internal parts.

I must tell you I'm a moron when it comes to A/C. I love this Jeep because it is a lot like the older vehicles that I used to work on. Haven't done this in 20 years and had such fun: Distributor cap and rotor ($13) fixed a hesitation problem. Felt good not paying for computer diags at the shop. :) But my problem is none of the old vehicles I owned had A/C :)

If you put your hand under the passenger dash after running the a/c for a while you can feel a component (large metal) that gets very cold. What is this? Also, I can't find the hose you speak of. Should I crawl under the vehicle to find it or look down through the engine compartment?
