Thanks for your time and consideration. My 1995 Grande Cherokee Laredo 2/4 (103,000 miles). In the last two months, the red break light stays on (on the dashboard) even when I re-release the handbreak. I recently took it to Tire Kingdom for an oil change and tire rotation (admittedly there was no mechanic there) but the tech said that the break shoes and pads were ok. That day I filled up the break fluid well (which was not empty but very low). I do a lot of stop/start driving in town. The tech recommended a breakfluid flush but I decided against it as there was no guarantee this would turn the light off. I noticed in the rain yesterday that there was some winning as I pulled into the garage. Is this a danger to me? And what do you think the break light on is trying to tell me? Thank you so much for your time, Helen:smile:

Try reaching down and pull up on brake pedal, could be the brake switch is sticking. They are made of plastic and can stuck with age. Also it is adjustable, there is a tin nut on both side of bracket it is placed in,these can come loose and it can move enough to to allow brake light to stay on. Dale
