hey guys, i am interested in buying a gen6 celica sx, and the one im looking at has had a engine conversion. me and dad have checked in all the places we thought would have an engine code but we cant find what engine has been dropped into it. we can only find "3S" on it so whe dont know if its a 3s-fe or 3s-ge (im hoping ge) and i was wondering if u guys know if there is a certain place to look to find out what engine it is.

thanks in advance.

BTW i live in australia and the sx is equivelant to the GT or whichever one that isnt the slower engine.

Well...if you know anyone with a 3sfe or 3sge in their car, you can visually compare that engine with yours. Without seeing your engine, I can tell you that the 3sfe looks very much like the 5sfe(if you know what that engine looks like). If you don't know what the 5sfe/3sfe looks like, you can find tons of pics online(ebay is a good place to start). The 3sfe intake runners drop down from the plenum(between the firewall and the valve cover), and into the head. The 3sge has intake runners that run across the top of the engine with the plug wires under the runners. Just to be clear I'm not a professional, so my input on this may not be 100% spot-on. I hope this helps, and sorry in advance if any of this was incorrect. Good Luck!
