timing marks on a B 2300

A friend of mine has a 1997 B 2300 that the timing belt busted on and he wants to try and fix it himself. He has asked me to check and see how to set up the pulley's (or timing marks) so he can put it back together.. I'm pretty sure it's a 2.3 engine . The one with 8 spark plugs.. Hope you can help..

Mazda Designates their truck models by engine displacement so that truck should have a 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder in it. I don't think any of the mazda trucks had a V8, I think they are all V6 or smaller.

Hope this works for you, sorry my FSM for that truck had some water damage when I got it, that is the procedure for the 96, should be the same as the 97. Since I don't own a B2300 it would be a big help if you could post back afterwards and give any details that might help others.

The 2300 Ford engine used in 1994 and later Mazdas had 2 plugs per cylinder or 8 total plugs.BJ
