Hey if you have a auto give the shifter a little hit then try to take the key out. Mine does that i guess it wont lock in gear fully when i turn the car off so i cant turn the key all they way back or turns all the way back and wont come out till i hit the shifter.

If it is an automatic do you have an aftermarket shift knob on it?

no. it started sticking yesterday and it came out it i turned the ignition forward a liiiiiiittle bit, pushed the key in, then turned it back.
but now no luck. and i wake up this morning and see dad broke the whole ignition cylinder thing so i definitely need to install a new one.

yes!
i've removed the panels underneath the wheel and found four gold colored bolts. removed those but i need a ratchet to reach two more that i've found. i think i've decided that i'm going to take everything apart.. 89 sunbird has been giving me advice/help too so i think i'm going to learn alot today.
i'm gonna take a break now though sponsored by Minute Maid Citrus Punch
