How can I make it so my handbrake will last longer?
Is there anything I can do to make the handbrake last for a long time. I like to play with the hand brake a lot...lock up the wheels...learning drifting with a fwd car... etc...
Any ideas of what I can do to make it last longer...?
Thanks
Ben

The only way to make it last longer is to not use it as much and deffently don't abbuse it.

Havent even seen F&F3...no interest in seeing crappy actors.
Let me ask you guys something. Why do you consider drifting such a horrable thing? Cause you can't do it? Its something that has been done in asia for many years. Just dont understand why learning to drift around corners instead of slowing down is so bad....Please explain it to me.

A. Your car is FWD.
B. Tires are expensive.
C. It's not safe to do unless on a road course.
D. It will look retarded because of A.

Oh yes, thats exactly it. I'm so fuckin jealous that my car isn't FWD and I wanna drift it.
Just so you know, I can drift my AWD very fluently. BUT, its not safe to be doing it on the streets. Keep it in controlled enviroments.

Tell me how many cars you see drifting around corners instead of using their normal brakes on a daily basis... God gave cars normal brakes for a reason. Use them dumbass. :disappoin

I hate to break it to you but there are two things you NEED to understand
1. FWD cars don't drift, e-braking a fwd isn't a drift, notice how you lose so much speed?
2. drifting through a corner is actually the slowest way around it. Ask ANY drifter, they'll tell you this is true.

Wow guys, come on. Be a little nicer sometimes. He didn't say anything other than the "cause you can't do it" comment to warrant these responses. If that's what he's into then great. Just do it safely. ;) I have a really cool clip of a Focus going around a turn (on a track) followed by an Evo screeming around it sideways, scaring a person standing nearby. It looks like the Evo is chasing the Focus down, attempting to kill it. I wish I could upload it somehow but it's part of a larger vid. Anyone know any programs?

Sometimes it gets out of hand....
btw...
Do a search on FWD drifting before you say it can't be done...

Oh it can be done... but not right. "FWD Drifting" is not drifting, it should be called something else. It's a rip off of real drifting. FWD drifting is like a woman wearing a strap-on... yeah it's almost like a dick, but not quite. You need a man, just like you need RWD. You see where I'm coming from here? Are we getting through.

Dude those tray slides are fucking lame! Grab some metal trays (or metal trash can lids minus the handle) THEN try it...at night, talk about sparks EVERYWHERE! Plus the tray wont wear through (but the lid will eventually) but CAREFUL your tire will melt to the tray and you'll have a flat spot...so if you do this, keep it under 3-4 minutes, trust me :icon16:

That def is not anything near drifting. They are basically donuts and just plain fun in a parking lot. I was talking about driving normally, the getting to a sharp turn and drifting around it then back to driving normally again. Wasnt really talking about having the ebarake on all the time...That first guy in he video just looks like a dumbass...but I did have a good laugh..:P

you can always just go and replace the e brake pads. They cost around 30 but good luck finding them. I'm assuming since it's a gst it has all wheel disc (but i could be wrong).
The E brake is actually inside the hubs on the back wheels. So if you pop of your rotors, there sets your ebrake pads. They go up against the inside of the rotor.
If your going to try it and learn it, be safe and dont' do it on open roads or with anyone around. Plus cops can still nail you for wreckless driving if your not careful. Some of us on here may rip you apart, but really most if it is good intentioned. If they say it's dumb it's usually for a good reason. We are just harsh in saying it.

Yeah, FWD drifting is kind of dumb IMO, but Falken actually has a real FWD drift car. Supposedly the first compitetion FWD drift car. Just thought I'd throw that in there. I think its a CRX or civic hatch.
