wondering

Ok so i was talking to my dad about putting a 3.4 in my fiero and he was wondering if it would be much trouble to put a 4.3 vortec motor out of like a blazer or a jimmy in there. If anyone can help me out on how to do it or how much trouble it would be then i would greatly appriciate it.

If there is room most any engine will squeeze into a Fiero. The "easiest" swap is the 3.4 out of a 90s Camaro/Firebird. It will bolt up to a Fiero transmission and can take the Fiero intake manifold also. The only modification is to move the starter See www.rodneydickman.com for the template. The 3.4 will run with the Fiero ECM. I had a crate 3.4L installed in my 88 in 1998. It has about 160 hp.

As far as a 4.3, it can work, but will be a lot more work for the swap.

ok because i though it would be pretty cool to take the motor out of a typhoon and put it in my fiero b/c i know those typhoons were fast as hell and pushin close to 300 hp so that would make the fiero fly.

Man it's been a while since I posted over here but I have learned alot over the years.

The problem with fieros isn't really difficulty it is the cost. What is your budget. The 3.4 camaro motor is easy, but the 3.1 is the easiest and cheapest 2.8 fiero upgrade. No starter mod. The 4.3 is a good motor but if you are going to do it you will need a 350 conversion kit and if you do that might as well drop a 350 in the back.

I put a 3.2 in back in october and it is plug and play.
