Actron Live Data-translation?

We bought an actron scannercp9145 originally to scan for codes for the tranny on my 98 blazer. That has since been resolved. We've been having problems with it not starting on rainy/humid mornings, also just running slightly rough in general. So I figured I'd scan it one morning, no codes. It has the option for veiwing live data. So after I got it running, about 10 minutes or so, I got the following info, but the numbers are all foreign to me. I don't know if the numbers mean good news,or bad. There's nothing in the manuals on what range I should be in.Can anyone take a quick look and give any advice?

One of the problems I see with those numbers Is you have a low map reading which could be caused by a vacuum leak or if you live at high altitudes. The other thing I saw was your long term fuel trim was higher than normal which means it is running rich. I didnt see any TPS voltage so I dont know if you were giving it any throttle or was this at idle. but by your rpms I will assume idle. Other than that every thing else looks ok.

Thanks for the response....so what SHOULD the MAP reading be? I mean, what is the normal range? Also, any ideas on what would cause it to run rich either? We are discovering like a million small things wrong the longer we own this truck. But I still like my truck. My husband thinks the truck has a grudge against him. Any time he takes it, it has problems.
Anyone else have an opinion on the above info? All is welcome....

the hard to start on wet/humid days and rough idle, old school says ditributor cap is letting moisture in, causing shorts or no connections to plug wires. the readings your getting are anything from oxegen sensors to mass air flow(MAF)
to fuel system, etc. find the manual on gm corporate page and look in "glove box" or pay for a year suscription to alldatadiy.com and these figures can be compared to a normal good stats. it's easy to pull off the ditributor cap and see if there are little lines scored between the center post and the post's for each plug wire, or a abnormal build up of white residue or a grayish discolor, or carbon like dust.

the cap & rotor were just replaced about 2-3 weeks ago. (ACDelco)it was running better for about a week afterwards, then went back to the hard start on rain days again. plugs were done less than a year ago. i'm thinking maybe the wires then, like you said? I will check into the other info you posted. thanks a bunch.

You need to change your plugs. All GM vehicles for me anywys let me know when it is time to chage them by runnin crappy. Look at the wires and see if you have ne white marks ,if so then its arching.

plugs were changed 6 months ago, wires were changed this past weekend, cap & rotor 2 weeks ago...no change.

What plugs were used?

did you use the AC Delco Platinums?

I'm not sure.....my husband changed them. We also changed the spark plug wires, still the same. It seems to be getting worse and worse. It's as though it's not priming. If it does'nt start, we shot just the slightest amount of starting fluid in, and it starts right up, like nothing is wrong. After that, it runs great till you shut it off, then try to restart, it does the same thing all over again. We changed out the fuel pump relay, just to eliminate that doubt, still nothing. There is just the one fuse/relay, right? I do not have a fuel pressure gauge, and not positive where the best place is to test from. Maybe change out the filter again? It's been about a year, I think. Should I start a new Title/Thread on this by the way?

How about the fuel filter?

If not changed, I would do it. Also, the pressure regulator could not be holding pressure.

Check fuel pressure will definitely show that.

It should be 61-66psi with the key on the prime but the engine not started.

If he has the time, he will change out the filter tomorrow. We're trying to eliminate the small things like that first. This sounds stupid, but where is the pressure regulator on this truck, exactly? And where is the best place to check the fuel pressure, I"ve heard many opinions on this.

Well, if anyone's interested, it turned out to be the fuel pump. Only getting about 52lbs. pressure, the fuel filter was still OK, but changed it anyway, while it was off. Also went ahead a changed the coil....it was arching. All is well again with my lil Blazer, for now......

Your welcome...I see alot of people starting things on here, looking for answers, then never posting when they find them. Really adds extra search time for a person who's still looking for their answers.

So true, we appreciate it.

Thanks for the reaction....so what SHOULD the MAP examining be? I mean, what is the regular range? Also, any thoughts on what would cause it to run wealthy either? We are finding like a thousand tiny issues incorrect the a longer period we own this vehicle. But I still like my vehicle. My partner believes the vehicle has a grudge against him. Whenever he requires it, it has issues.
