Minimum Volume Control '00 Passat GLS

When i turn the radio down to the minimum the radio give an audible tone, then goes to "mute".

BUT the first click to take it out of Mute is sometimes too loud. This is with radio or cds.

I want to know if there is a way to lower the minimum volume level without it going to mute.

Its the standard in-dash cd changer.
