Hello all,

I have a 99 tahoe with 124k miles and a 03 suburban with 59k miles. At about 65k on the tahoe I had the transmission oil and filter/gasket changed not flushed the 03 suburban has never had the trans oil changed. The local quick lube is advertising a transmission flush which includes filter and gasket for $59.99 my question is should I have the flush on both vehicles or just on the 03 suburban, and change the oil and filter on the 99 tahoe?

Any opinions on what type of fluid/filter/gasket to use or anything else pertaining to this proceedure is greatly appreciated.

Do not have the flush done, you can do more damage than good. The flush machine uses more fluid and pushes the dirt back in.All I hear are horror stories,My father knows a guy that has his own transmission shop that cleans valve bodies because someone had their transmission flushed and the complaint is: Does not shift right. The transmission shifts fine after the valve body cleaning.I replaced one transmission because it was acting after being flushed. It was down 4 quarts and luckily moved.Just have the fluid and filter changed, that is best thing to do to an automatic transmission.
