How do you adjust the emergency brake on the '05 Freestar?

I don't know the answer to your question .. but it might be covered in the owner's glove box manual. ??

I did want to suggest the following somewhat related item. If you use your handbrake frequently (I do) you may find the hand control eventually working itself loose from the floorboard. I caught my '99 Windstar's just before it totally broke away from the floorboard. I ended up fashioning a couple of reinforcing nut-plates (from an old mover blade) that were installed underneath to resecure the thing.

What condition are the rear brakes in? The parking prake uses the regular brake pads and caliper to hold the vehicle. Are the rotors rusted?
