what year did the foxbody mustangs come with forged pistons?
Is it true that you can run a 100 shot on a stock motor (the ones that came with forged pistons?)
i dont wanna totally kill my gas mileage, but i want to teach all the rice rockets around here a lesson about american muscle.
so i was thinking about getting a 100 shot and a full exhaust.

I think 87-93's are, but done quote me on that. But if they are you would definatly be able to run atleast a 100 shot.

ok, thanks.
if anyone else knows for sure please let me know.
what other parts bottleneck power? ive heard you can get up to 40whp with a headerback exhaust.

Not that much, probaly around 15rwhp with a O/R mid pipe and cat back exhaust(even though you wont have cats). GT40 heads/intakes and bolt on's with 3.73's, DR's and some spray would make a quick fox body.

87-91 were forged. After that Mustang lost HP because it went to the cheaper pistons from 225hp to I think 210hp

nitrous won't kill your gas mileage, you're only spraying it every so often and when you are you are WOT anyway

iN 92-93 they had the hypertuetectic pistons. And they were donwrated due to computer changes not the pistons. Wanna teach em a lesson eh? Get some 3:73's a good set of d/r's and a 100 shot. Should be good for mid 13's easy.

93 was the year Ford went with Hyper pistons from forged. The pistons alone were not the reason for the HP decrease. There were series of changes from 87 when the motor was first rated, changes to the camshaft profile, the addition of mass air and a few other things, also the method in the way HP numbers are achieved changed when the Mustang was rerated in 93.
Also, follow what autotech said about running nitrous, and you should be fine. You can run nitrous on anything if the proper measures are taken.

You can run 150 shot of nos(dry kit) if you use 24 lb injectors with matched MAF Sensor and this can be done on cast, forged and hyper pistons... just retard timing 2 degrees for every 50 shot above 50 ( 4 degree retarded for 150 shop) and run premium gas 94 Octane and use an inline booster pump for fuel pressure increase.. NOS sells a kit complete ... dropped my stock 95 gt from 15.30 to 13.07 on drag radials , 3.27 gear ran it for 2 yrs like that untill ( of course) i wanted more and tossed in a 347 block , etc
hope this gives you the confidence to run all over them damn ricers:iceslolan

NOS, nitrous same sh*t. NOS=Nitrous Oxide System, i hate when people make a big deal over what people call it, YES there are alot of ricers out there that use NOS(NAWWZZ) b/c of f&f, but from autotechs post he doesnt look like a ricer to me.

Its annoying though when people say "oh my gawd you got NAWZZ??", unless you're talking about Holly then please just call it nitrous. I've honestly never heard anyone that knew what they were talking about call nitrous "NOS".
