I'm on vacation right now and we left the truck at a shop to have them look into a vacuum leak and i guess that they found one and they said they cant really find a way around how long itll take them to do it 5.5 hours. What will this do affecting my engines performance....when it is fixed will it make a big difference??? he said itll be about $400 and i dont kno if my warranty will cover it...

I have a vacuum motor on my car, but have never heard of them on a Blazer.
The reason why my car has one is there's no vacuum in a diesel motor so they put a little electric motor in my car to run the power brakes.
I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but I think that you should question them on it and ask them to point it out to you. You'll have a pretty good idea how long it should take them then.

well its not actually a motor...no moving parts...but its a part that controls where the air comes out of vents and stuff...it holds vacuum or something...and i just got a call...its not covered by warranty. blah!

It's a pain to work under or remove the dash so that's probably where all the moneys going to. You might want to take a quick look under the dash yourself, there might be 1 or 2 hoses easily accessed and seen. If these look like they're off then you can try plugging them back. a few min work might just save you hunderds of dollars.

Was your climate control knob working right, or was it always sending the air through the defrost vents? The most common vacuum problem with this system was the control knob on the dasboard. It would start to leak and not work properly, and eventually it would get so bad, you could hear the leak like it was behind the dash. The fix for this is to just go ahead and replace the control knob.
