Cruise Control Problems

Has anyone heard of or experienced cruise control problems? Especially over-revving or runaway acceleration?:banghead:

haven't come across that problem. my cruise has stopped working ever since my water pump went (about 3 wks ago).......they can't be connected can they ????

I nee dmore info about what's happening. You say it accelerates out of control ?! Maybe a sticky resume button ? Or something under the hood is obstructing the cruise control cables to the throttle ?!
2nd post
I would say definitely YES ! it would have something to do with the water pump repair. I would look for broken, disconnected wires/plugs in the engine compartment. If still nothing check the switch at the brake pedal.

OK, heres what happened. on my way to work, in my 98 Venture, my water pump decided to go. I managed to make to work. Along the way my speedometer started acting eraticly and so did the cruise. Filled up rad and reservior with water to get home. replaced w/pump. now speedo still acts up and cruise doesn't work at all.
