The first thing they list there is to unplug and close off the vac lines on the TB. What do you guys think? They are such a pain in the ass, I have a vac leak and rather than finding it, I would rather just get rid of the whole bitch! I dont know if the clusterfuck of vac lines, T's, and connectors is stock but whoever (mitsu or otherwise) did my vac lines was a fucking moron. Would you guys do it? Will I be throwing codes all over? I would like some input please guys!

Here man check this out, i just did the same thing, i hated all those vacuume lines. Once you block the egr off with a plate just about every vacuume line is gone ;) But i used dsmlink to ignore all the sensors that had vacuume lines going to them.

Here is my post i have a few pics there that might help you out before i took all the vacuume lines out. Just follow the diagram that Blackcrow64 put up for me or anyone else that needs it ;)

Thats balls-ass amazing. I wonder why I didnt see that, I have been reading basically every thread for like 14 months now.

Edit: ahhh, it was in the problem diagnosis section. I'm not generally too good at diagnosing fromt some people's half assed desciptions of whats going on and the horribly poor grammar/punction from many noobs that post in there so I tend to stay out.

So if you remove your egr hose will any check engine lights come on. I hate having to clean a dirty intake manifold all the time.

Oh yes. Think of you check engine light as an Emission Contols System. Unless the light is flashing 9 times out of 10, it's emmisions based.

Yeah, I think I can deal with the CEL's. I'd be tossing like 5 codes with no vac lines wouldnt I?

 Ok. I sure as hell hope nothing serious happens where the CEL is actually something going bad, not just emissions shit! I am going to pull them all off tomorrow and take a picture of the rats nest of vac lines I have. Quite a PITA.

Emissions sucks. I have mine coming up in April. I need to find a way around it, becasue I've taken everything off except the EGR.

i love living were they don't check your cars emissions the only time they check is when you buy your car.

Ha, they never check our shit here in MN! Good thing too, I would probably be in some trouble. ;)

Here in NY 95 and older do not need to pass emissions 96 and up have to be put on a computer to pass inspection

here in texas, all they do now, "emissions being a serious problem" is on 96 and newer, they make sure the cel works. if it does, and its off; congrats, you pass emissions! if not, or older then 96, you get a muffler probe... I'ed fail that with flying colors... but, i "passed" emissions just the other day... lol (i'm an inspector)

Well, I got around to redoing those vac lines today. Its sooo much less complicated, I love it. Can I take those 3 emissions dealies out or should I leave them plugged in? I also capped off the charcoal canister and valve cover breaker lines. You guys should see my T fitting for the BOV hose to the WG. They didnt have any small plastic ones so I had to make one from 3 screw in nipples and a 3 hole threaded block. It weighs like 13 lbs and is like 2.5 feet long ;). Noooo, but its freakin huge anyway :p.

You capped off your valve cover breather?? I thought it released pressure so your crankcase pressure didn't rise?...

Well, I capped it off at the intake pipe. I will still have it, just running out a breather. I know, I know, its probably not the best idea but after looking at my dirty ass IM and stuff, I need to quit dripping shit in there. Plus when money permits, I think I am going to pick up a buddy's intake (dont know what brand) and 2g MAF and the intake pipe doesnt have a nipple for the valve cover breather.
