Hi guys!
I want to buy some PPG Urethane Clear, but I don't know what to buy. Someone here use this stuff or can tell me the no model I need to ask the guy from the paint shop for?
Thanks a lot!

Your best bet is to contact Leon at cobracolors. He is a member of this board and helped me immensely when trying to figure out the whole clear issue.

If you're going with PPG products I would recommend their Duracryl DCA 468 acrylic lacquer. It's extremely glossy, doesn't yellow, it's less dangerous in several ways, and it dries to the perfect hardness for polishing. Thin it with DTL 105 lacquer thinner.

Thanks a lot Leon.
So Acrylic lacquer is better than Urethane?
Because sometimes, I spray with Auto Air Colors and they recommand Urethane clear. Is acrylic lacquer clear is good as urethane clear? Is it like the clear we can buy from your site?

I prefer urethane clear over any laquer.
Just tell the guy at the paint store that you want some good ppg clear, and they should be able to show you what catalyst and reducer you need to use with it.

Not better, just different. Urethane usually flows out a little bit better than lacquer so there's less sanding required when polishing it, but the results when polished are equal.
If you use anything with a hardening catalyst, a chemical cartridge face mask is mandatory. Inhaling overspray can cause the hardener to fuse with the linings of your respiratory system and potentially cause long term damage. Toxins from some can also be absorbed through your skin which is one reason why professional painters wear full protective body suits when painting.
Either choice is good. Just make sure you take proper precautions to protect your health.

Thanks a lot, I guess I will buy a quart of Duracryl DCA 468 acrylic lacquer then, because I spray in a basement with a very small air circulation, but I use a spray booth and a mask.
Last question is, did this clear react well with decals?

If you go very slow and apply very light coats you can successfully overcoat decals, but if the clear stays wet for even a short length of time it will bubble and ruin them.
