Since the motor is coming out I'm going to have all summer free to do whatever on my car so here is what I'm thinking
Degrease and repaint the engine bay
rhino line and dynomat the spare tire well
touch up all the exterior paint
Run braided fuel lines
Repaint calipers
polish everything I can get my hands on
Maybe sell the leather seats and get racing seats?
rerun all of the gauge wires
run the wideband
Basically make everything as clean and show worthy as possible
Anyone and any other ideas?
Instead of polishing the IC I'm thinking of getting it in a gloss black maybe anadized or something what do you think?
The other thing is the theme is black red and chrome

Your list sounds good except for the rhino line part...never heard of doing that to a trunk. Whatcha gonna be haulin in there? Lol, j/k? But really if its to reduce distortion I would just go dynamat on the whole trunk surface.

Also about painting the calipers.....what color were you thinking? I hope not a bright color like red or anything...too ricey for me. I think black or something. I see soo many cars with the stock calipers painted red, I think it just draws even more atention to your stock brakes. I say leave the red to real race calipers.

Also painting the IC? Is that such a good idea? My LS1 friend that works at Advance said that a guy turboing his 240sx goes in there like everyday to buy parts. He said that today he brought in an intercooler to get bolts for it but the thing had a fresh coat of black paint on it. So maybe it works, IDK. lol.

Good luck with it.

I hear that if its a thin coat it wont hurt it. I want to rhino line it because it has some rust on it from standing water, my battery is back there, and I want less exhaust noise filtering through. Oh and the other thing I was thinking was taking the carpet off of my box, bondoing it and painting it to match my car

I painted the calipers on my Monte a graphite color and it looks really nice. You can tell it's not stock but it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, I would recommend something like that. Other than that, your list looks good. Just go through the tech articles on Tuners and you'll get TONS of ideas.

all of the above. I dont know anything about painting intercoolers, but make sure it won't affect heat transfer. Remember, black things get hotter.

I would say stay with original IC finish. Black does absorb heat and I would imagine paint would take away from the cooling efficiency. I also wouldnt Rhino Line the trunk, that would be heavy as shit not to mention after dynamatting. I'd just sand off the rust and put some rustoleum over it or something then dynamat it if you want some sounds deadening. Now would also be a good time for a Shep tranny if you were after one.

I think I might order the guts and build it myself but I'm not sure what I can get when due to me being poor and all
