hi ,
i have been having trouble with my truck as i have posted here before , and everyone was really helpfull . i have been having trouble with plug wires . i have tried 5 different sets and same thing , i can pop the hood at night and see fire running up and down some of the wires . i have tried 5 differnt set's of wires and also several set of plugs and i triple check the gap several times to make sure it is right as 0.35 . it has a very slight miss every couple of seconds at idle but seems to run great on the road . no hesitation at kickdown or takeoff . i can grab 2 nd gear very easy . but i was wondering if the wires could be causing the slight miss at idle . someone said it could be the distributer putting out to much voltage and maybe over powering the wires but i have never seen one do that . i was hoping someone would have some suggestion 's . i would really appericate any help . the truck is a 1994 chevrolet silverado 5.7 engine 4x4 . right now i have ac delco plugs adn ac delco wires and accel cap and roter . thanks silver100

I had this sorta problem with my 97. I actually found a diagram that shows the correct routing for the plug wires. I had slight stumble/misfire at idle and even up to 1000 rpm on take off. I replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor with ac delco and routed the wires specifically as shown in the diagram. I haven't had the misfire since. You might be able to contact you gm dealer and ask for the plug wire diagram. I'll see if I still have it in my files.

Go another set of plugs. If fire does not go threw the spark plug it will go out someplace.

I have the plug wiring diagram, but don't know how to attach them to post.
