Hello, my dad ownes a 96 tracker stick shift, When he turns the car off for a short period of 10 min or so, it won't idle, It will start, and the rps will drop until the car stalls, Previously it was having problems, doing that only when it started for the first time, but if you let it drop, the idle would go to about 200 rpms, than climb back up to normal idle. Now it just goes right to stall.. Any Ideas.
Thanks

Any codes present? when was last tune up? Mine used to do same thing. removed throttle body and cleaned. also cleaned passage for egr valve in plenum.solved the problem. Worth a try.

yes it does have a throttle body. as for the egr code, cleaning the passage, will correct that, It is carboned up and not allowing sufficient air to pass. after you take the throttle body off look at the 12 o'clock position inside the manifold, and clean that passage. Remove the egr tube and make sure it is clean. should repair problem.
