sunroof sticks

on my 03 grand prix the sunroof sticks. after it opens 2 inches, then each time you hit the switch it moves about 1/4 inch, i have used white grease on the tracks (the dealer did it) with little success. all ideas are welcome

Mine did this, after owning it a couple of years. I took it back to the dealership because the car was under warranty. It took them half a day to fix it. They told me that the sunroof needed to be realigned. After that, it worked flawlessly. I wish I had asked more questions, as to what the deal was…. I think I might have stuck once or twice since them. But I don’t remember. I use it a lot with out a problem now.

the motor may possibly be going bad

I just took my 04 to the dealer for the same problem and they told me that they have to order a part to fix it and that they will call me when it arrives. I will let you know what part they order if it fixes it and then I'll post a thread. I can tell just by looking at my sunroof that it is out of line so realigning it is probably all they are going to do with this part.
