Hello,
I own a 2003 Eclipse GS with automatic tranny and I replaced my headlamp bulbs. Now the lights are pointing down. My lights are bright, but span about 25-30ft only. Can anyone tell me how to turn them back up, so I don't end up hitting or running over anything. Oh and I have read the How-to headlight post. It doesn't say anything about headlamps pointing down after installing.
Thanks all,

isnt that how far there suposed to go???\\
if anything just put a couple washers or somthing simmilar under the housing to raise them. I've tried messing with the knobs but havent seen any change.

Well......I have changed my lights I dont know how many times...and I have never had a problem with them falling down after i put new ones in. Then I got new Halo Projector housings and life was still good. Then I upgraded to a real HID kit.......fantastic still. I do agree that those knobs dont really do much, but they do something, allbeit very little. I love my HID's though...if you want to be a badass dont buy "blue bulbs", get a 10-12000K HID upgrade, you wont be disapointed.

Does the hid kits seriously cost around 500? I dont think I've ever seen a car that actually had them. Are they legal?

No they dont cost 500. I got my kit from a good seller on Ebay for like 200 I think (it was either 170 or 270...cant remember but I can put a link up to his site if anyone wants). My car has them....look at my signature picture, thats the 12000K kit on the projector. Yes HID's are legal, any nice BMW, Mercedes, and now a lot of American cars have them stock. However, only up to 8000K are legal, anything over that is NOT. You buy HID kits based on their temp. which is rated in K (Kelvin). Kits start at around 4000K and some go up to 14000K. 4000K are kinda yellow and are a good foglight because the yellow light really cuts fog and doesnt reflect off of it (a lot of Lexus' use them as fogs, but I dont like the color. This is also why LeMans race cars have yellow lights because they work way better in rain/fog). My kit was a 12000K kit because I wanted it to be BLUE as hell, which they are. If I ever get pulled over for them it wont be a cheap ticket, plus whatever i spent on the kit will be lost because I will have to take them out.

did you clip the lights in with the swing clip? cuz if not then that is the only reason it will point downward, otherwise there isn't many ways to screw this up.

If he didnt clip the lights in, i dont see them staying in at all.....plus you would have to have like mad stupid skills to do that.

Speaking of ebay has anyone ever gotten any thing from this guy?

My girlfriend purchased those lights for me yesterday and I'm alittle worried
that something isn't going to be right because of the CRAZY low price he is selling them at. Can you post that link for the hid kit?

Well, the thing you need to look for when buying ANYTHING on ebay is the seller satisfaction percent, and the number of transactions. This guy is a major power seller with a pretty decent percent rate (anything over like 2000 transactions and I dont worry too much about deadbeat sellers). Plus, if you use PayPal it doesnt matter if you ever get the item or not because of their buyer protection policy. As long as you can prove that you did not recieve the item you will get a full refund (not as nice as having what you wanted to buy, but at least you arent left out to dry).
The link for the guy that I got my kit from is here. He is pretty Japanese, so emails and whatnot may be kinda hard to understand, but my kit works great, and so have everyone elses that has bought them from him. Like i said earlier, think about what color you want your lights. Anything 8000K and up will look awesome. However, like I also said, anything OVER (not including 8000K) are not legal (at least not in Nebraska, and prolly not anywhere else). So, If you want to look good, know there might potentially be a price to pay. If you know cops around you are looking for any reason to pull you over then I would be careful about pushing your luck with crazy ass lights. However, If you want to look like a badass then go with 10-12000K. Here's the link: http://stores.ebay.com/Smart4Cars . Any of the HID kits will fit your car, just make sure you are very sure what bulb type to get, and you clearly tell him multiple times what number you want.

How do you know what bulb size to get? It wouldnt be the same size as the factory bulbs would it? I'm alittle confused. So you still have all your factory light "housing" (i guess thats what you would call it?) and the hid kit just gives it alot more power? Your picture of them doesnt look like the "factory housing." I thought it would be something like getting altezza's, you would have a whole new headlight(if you get what I'm sayin) but the kits just looks like a bunch of wires and boxes. Would you have to buy 2 kits to have low and high beam hid? Also if you did get in trouble with the 10k or 12k couldnt you just throw in some 8k bulbs or would they just get fried from the 12k kit? I guess that would be like putting a 40watt light bulb in a 80watt socket. I'm sorry if you have trouble understanding what I'm sayin. Thanks for your help. And one more thing, is there any thing I should know before tryin to put those altezza tail lights in? or should it be a piece of cake? thanks again

Bulb size is the same as factory, assuming you are still going to use your factory housing. Mine look different because I changed my headlight assemblies to Halo Projector. 1 HID kit will come complete with everything you need to do both sides of your car. There will be 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts, and wiring harnesses to plug into your factory harness. You cant run High beams with an HID kit, however, I dont think you need them because they put out so much light. However, if you feel like spending a little more money they do sell kits called "Bi-Xenon" lamps, which are an HID high and low bulb togeather. I am not sure what sizes they sell them in, but I do know they are out there. I just spliced my high and low beams togeather so they are on at the same time because I am cool like that, lol. Yes you can just change bulbs to whatever temp you want and keep the same ballast as long as you get them from the same guy because you have to make sure that they are compatible (however, new bulbs for HID's are not cheap, but they also last like 10X longer than regular bulbs). All you need to get is 1 HID kit, and thats it. If you are planning on getting new headlights I would hesitate to get the kit now because you will have to change the bulbs for the new assemblies. Everything is pretty plug and play, and easily removable should you decide to change cars, or simply go back to stock.
