i'm going on my summer trip to london next week and i just wanna know if there are any car shows and stuff like that going on in the next 4-5 weeks anywhere near london or any good museums since i realized that we have a couple of people from england on the OT forums....can't go to goodwood festival of speed cos it's pretty far away from where i'm staying and i probably can't get tickets now

you just missed the london motorshow.
there's a london to brighton run going on soon and there's also a regular once a month meet at the Ace Cafe if you like classic cars.

GoodWood...

Hmmmmm...

Anyways, when I went it was enough of a car show just cruising through the country. Saw a R33 GT-R, Elise GT1, etc. Not to mention my uncle had probally one of the only Talon AWD TSi's in the country. He told me people there had never seen it before and they were asking him if it was exotic or not, lol. Overall the experience there was pretty cool minus the badass jet lag.

UK emissions regulations allow just about every car to be road legal. so we get everything from koennigigisisgsgssgsgeg CCX to GT-Rs and much more.

central london on a weekday will ensure you see just about everything, i've seen McClaren F1s and Enzos as so on all in my off-college travels.

that's the real reason for the congestion charge; so the peasants and their focus' make way for the rich folk and their SLRs.
The drive from Hyde Park Corner to Putney (Via Stamford Bridge...) is always a good spot for car watching, especially once you turn in to Brompton Road/Fulham Road.

oxford street and the west end in general are good too.

soho/regents street/oxford street on a friday night seems to be ferrari night.
silly rich folks think that finding a parking space is easy....

update to correct myself.
for some reason, i wrote down the london motor show in the wrong month in my diary/notebook.
it's actually happening this month (july)
check the link for details.

i might be able to get preview night tickets for cheap(er) if anyone is interested but i'll only know nearer the time (numbers dependent as well....)
