I belive it's called donk, or dank, or something like that. It's just a style like lowriders or any other style. It originated in the South with people wanting to buy old cars and drop like 30 grand into them to show everyone that they are wealthy or something like that? I read an article in a magazene about it.

your cars are ok. im not really into cars with huge rims tho. biggest i would ever go is 22s but i like 20 or 19

yea in the south and midwest. you see em all over the place 22"-28" and now a few 30" theres no real name for em i guess you can say high riders. "donk" is more specific its a 71-76 impala or caprice, even tho ppl call anything on big rims a donk these days. all the diecast versions are too high i agree, but you gotta start somewhere. give it time you'll start seeing more old schools on big wheels in your area. up north and out west are a little behind on the movement. i disagree with someone saying ppl only do it to show wealth , whys there have to be a negative reason for someone wanting to customise their car. like driving a H2 and never goin offroad isnt showing off wealth, or riding around in the back of a maybach. better to save the old cars from the junkyard and demo derbys IMO.

in the first pic. the little car was pretty sweet. now they are massproducing 30" rims from tis. the wheel and tire combo cost 50k. pirelli partnered w/ tis to produce tires for the rims. they revealed the 30" rims on a h2 but what really p/o me was that they didn't upgrade the brakes! it was the puny stock discs. that's what bothers me most when people upgrade their rims is that they have the puny stock brakes. you need the bigger brakes w/ the bigger rims!

that pickup (has lincoln badges but is an f-150) is on DUB rims, theyre bout 25k cheaper than the TIS, but i heard the TIS 30's are made of some light aluminum so they cost more. when i saw the TIS ones at the MIA. dub show they were on Bams hummer, it had a big brake kit. if you saw em at the NY auto show or most of the other dub shows those hummers rolled in on stock wheels and just had the 30's on for show. the same set of 30's travels around in the dub show semi and gets put on a stock hummer in each new city.

well the pic i saw was in teh dub magazine. and when they showed the wheels to public the brakes were stock. well good for bam that he bothered to install bigger brakes!

yea i'd say you wouldnt make it real far on stock brakes with wheels that big lol i'd be scared to go over 35mph, even 22's and up should upgrade. besides big brake kits look alot nicer i think, one more thing you can paint to match or chrome. whats 600 or so bucks when you just spent thousands on rims and tires. i read somewhere bam spent 150,000 to get the first set of those.

yeah why dont they put better brakes or even cut a stainless steel round plate to go behind the wheels to just cover the stock brakes up!
