I have a 94 Buick Regal w/3.8L and a little over 100,00 miles. We were driving down the highway at about 65 mph and it started having what seemed like compression problems. It wouldn't go above 2mph and when my husband out it in neutral it would allow the rpms to go up but as so as he put it in drive it tried to die on him. At first we thought it was the fuel pump or fuel filter. But after we got it to our bosses yard on the back of the trailer we figured out the fuel pump was fine and we changed the fuel filter already. It will start and splutter for about 10 secs and then die again. Anyone have any ideas on what the prob is???:nono:

Was the fuel pressure checked with a gauge to see if it is in specs? Other possibility Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor.

Thank you. As soon as he pressure tester was hooked up it made it to 10 lbs or is it psi and died. It ended up being both the MAF and the fuel pump we finally have it back on the road. thanks again for the idea!!!
