Electric Trailer Brake Controller

I have a 2003 Expedition FX4, and I would like to hook up the electric brake controller for a travel trailer. Has anyone done this that might be able to give me some pointers? Or should I take it into a hitch store and have them do it for me?

Thanks.

I have a "98" and it was quite simple. In my jack case there was a pigtail that hooked right into the wiring under the dash. Tied it into the control (can't be a hydraulic) and just adjusted it with the trailer hooked up. Very easy.
