1995 Pontiac Grand AM-3.1Ltr V6 Automatic

Anyone know how to replace the motor mounts on a Pontiac Grand AM? The front strut was easy. And the right side upper mount doesn't appear to be a problem. But the left side lower transaxle mount is a real bear to remove. The two top bolts that secure the mounting plate to the tranaxle hit the frame and therefore can't be completely unscrewed.
Does the upper mount have to be removed to get the right lower mount to come off? I sure as heck don't won't to pull the engine. Thanks for any and all help with this problem.
