Somebody please help- 2000 Neon issues

Hi everybody! OK Here's just a little warning about this post... I'm such a girl when it comes to car stuff so I am going to try my best to describe what it's doing. Please don't laugh at me too hard :1zhelp:

OK, about a year ago my 2000 neon started giving me troubles. When I would have my AC on and would stop at a light, it would act like it didn't want to go or was about to cut out on me when the light changed and I'd step on the gas. I figured it just had something to do with the AC so I would just turn it off and it would be fine. (shoulda had it looked at then I know but I didn't.)

Fast forward to now. It's started to doing the same thing whether the AC is on or not, when I go to back out of a parking spot, it does the putt-putting thing like it's going to shut off terrible, and now it's even starting to do it as I'm just driving along. It's really bad if I'm going up a slight incline. Not major hills just little ones in the road. If I floor it, it does ok but I just don't know what's going on.

When was the last time you had a tune-up...spark plugs, air filter, PCV valve and such changed? Might be time for one.

I just had my air filter replaced a couple months ago, the guy did my spark plugs too. I don't know what a PCV valve is so I don't know if he did anything with that or not.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve. Do you know what kind of plugs he put in there?

lilpink, i'll type the maintenance schedule for you, it'll help narrow down your problems, and also to help to keep it running in good shape, i have a 2nd gen like yours, although i've never had those type of problems yet, mine were a little different, but there's a chance that something on this list will help provide the answers to some problems that may occur, and also guide you to keep the car running right, you'll also learn some things as well, just give me an hour to type it up.

Hi lilpinktoes, I'm new to the boards to and I am having the same problem with my 2000 neon! did you find a answer to your problem?? boy I hope soo..It's the best lil Neon over a hundred thousand miles but not sure what to do..thanks..

PCV valve, Drivers side valve cover, black, all plastic and the head is quite large. Oh and it does a hose connected to it.
