99 4runner alarm keeps going off

My factory alarm keeps going off in my 99 4runner, is there any reason for why this is happening? It does it like 6 times a night and wakes up all my neighbors, any suggestions how I can fix this or disconnect the alarm? The toyota dealership said if disconnected the alarm the car wouldn't start. So right now I just keep the car unlocked without the alarm on and remove all my valuables. Thank you very much.

Good luck in finding the gremlin. My 95 does the same thing and I even took it to Toyota and had them work on it. it only goes off at 2am and 630am. Neighbors loved it because it took me 10 minutes to wake and realize the alarm was going off. I had to turn it off.

my alarm does not go off, but sounds off, like when its locked and you pull the door handle hard "BEEP-BEEP-BEEP-beep beep beep" :screwy:
after i had left the int light on and needed a jump start it the issue went away for 4 mos or so. now it randomly does it and still have not found a reason or cause.
do you have the auto-arm feature engaged? the little red LED on the dash. dunno if it makes a differance but i leave it off.

Not sure if this helps find the culprit, but my 98 4Runner alarm will sound when the vehicle is armed (w/doors locked) and my Nextel phone/radio is inside. Something about the radio signal the phone puts out/receives. This does not ever happen when the phone is not in the vehicle. Strange........

push the button on the dash 7 times. worked for us
