Water getting in under trunk. Help please!!!

I'm get a significant amount of water that settles in the sapre tire well when it rains. I'm pretty sure the taillights are leaking but I am wondering if there's anything else I should look into. Also I'm shopping for new tailights any advice?

hey bro i have the exact same problem. i believe its my weather stripping around the back of my hatch. but if it is the taillights where exactly would it be leaking at?

Not exactly sure whether the actual housing is leaking or if it's a seal around the lights. But different ppl have told me, including a mechanic that I know, that they are somewhat notorious for leaking. I just don't know the details on it. I put a hose on the outside while I watched from inside the trunk and I could see two very faint trickles comming down from either side where the taillights are positioned. But I havn't taken that rear panel completely off yet, so I'm not exactly sure where it's comming from.

But if you're having the same problem and you still have your power antenna installed, you might want to check to make sure the drain for that is still connected. You have to remove the plastic panels to do this. The drain tube is at the bottom of the housing of the motor for the antenna. It just fits into another tube that spits the water out the wheel well I think. That was another place I was getting water in.

Still taking suggestions on new taillights. I've heard alot of aftermarket tails are crap. Anyone?

most aftermarket tail light seals are crap!! all you have to do to fix this is take the tail lights off and buy some silicone caulk and put a shit load where the gasket is suppose to be and stick them back on. also check the trunk seal. also take the trunk seal off and make sure the metal under the seal is not rusting away thats what happened to me. hope this helps ya.

also, double check the tubes around the hatch that act as water exits to make sure they're not crudded up and blocked. You can see them when you open the hatch up and look.. there's one at the top by the wiper wiring, and then there's two actual "tunnels" at the rear behind the bumper. Cleaning all of these out can make a world of difference.
