stalling problem

I have a 97 Grand Cherokee 150k and it runs fine until the stall. Looses power at at any speed. Very similiar to running out of gas. It would in the past restart and run fine until the next occurance. Happened three times until recently. Stalled twice in a week. It now stalls after about 2-3miles and will not restart until it sits. Will restart if allowed to sit for 30 minutes or more.
I have replaced crank sensor. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Did you replace the crankshaft position sensor with one from the dealer? I've heard of people having problems with the aftermarket ones not working properly.

If it has to sit before restarting, that sounds like something other than the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS). Check other postings for fuel pump issues - there might be something limiting the fuel to the engine, and sitting allows it to build up the required [normal] pressure so the engine can start.

really sounds like the crank sensor. Check the sensor's wiring too. another possiblity is the coil.
