keep your ears to the ground for a band called "Puscifer"

The band is a side-project of joint effort from former Nine Inch Nails' Danny Lohner and Tool's Maynard James Keenan. MJK's announcement that he will not be taking up A Perfect Circle as a side-project again may be to concentrate more on Puscifer. Unlike "Tapeworm", a previous side-project by Lohner, MJK, and Trent Reznor, Puscifer has been able to put out 2 official releases and 1 remix. You may have recognized MJK's voice on the soundtracks for Underworld I and II, and Saw II. If you're interested to know what they sound like, shoot me a PM. Their site is under construction at the moment, and I don't use Myspace, so if you can rummage around and find them there, kudos. All three are very dark and brooding songs, nothing to bang your head to, nothing fo catch a beat for, so not for casual listening. Its still pretty cool, imo, but i like that sort of dark shit.

edit: Also, anybody who used to be a fan of HBO's "Mr. Show" with SNL's Bob Obenkirk comedian David Cross, and remembers the sketch of Ronnie Dobbs going to jail, MJK appeared on that episode as a guest playing the role of a lead singer of a ficticious band called "Puscifer", back in 1995.

can't forget about "Ass Kicking Fat Kid" from Run Ronnie Run. If I remember correctly they had the drummer from Hole playing on that song.

sorry to bring back an old thread, but www.puscifer.com was just launched today by MJK, and if you read into it, its pretty humorous.

yeah, maynard said it was way too time consuming. he was working with APC, starting a winery, working on 10,000 Days for Tool, and bringing up a son. I think he said in Revolver magazine that he had come to the decision to end APC with member Billy Howerdel, as he wasnted to move away from APC as well and start his own projects. Good thing i saw them on their last tour back in '04

The Undertaker is the shit

Maynard's stated he won't start any new projects unless he can be free of record labels. True to form, Puscifer's MySpace page says "Label: Thanks. But no thanks."

I read somewhere he said something about some new material for APC. This was not long ago. I DID read an interview a while back where he said APC was pretty much dead. So I don't know what to think about that.

well, he said in an interview that it is quote "no more", an agreement between him and guitarrist Howerdel. Billy is currently working on a project that will see daylight very soon, according to maynard. That, and I think also bassist Geordie White (Twiggy in Manson) is back with Manson to work on an upcoming album that should be around near Valentines Day '07 (according to Manson on an interview).
Still, I like to hope that APC is just on a hiatus as well, and that we can see a new installment of original work where 13th step left off.
