my wife and i replaced her radiator in her 1991 celica st auto trans. when we were putting everything back together, a piece of metal touched a screw on the side of the battery holder, which then touched the positive cable on the battery. there were a few sparks, but nothing else happened. we got the radiator back in, and tried to start it.....nothing happened. the main relay, the efi relay, the head relay, the 100a fuse and a 30a fuse all fried in the process. replaced all of those, but still nothing. took it furthur and found out the starter was also fried.replaced the starter and still nothing! the starter works because we took it out, and put it into my 1990 st, and it started up fine. we tried my starter in her car, but nothing happens. all the lights inside come on, tested the battery, and it is ok. what could be the problem? has this happened to anyone else, or something similar? i looked around in the forums, but saw nothing about this problem....i think it might be electrical, or the computer, but i live about 22 miles from the nearest auto parts store, and the car is not going anywhere anyway. Help!!

try a diffrent battery if you already havnt, swap out the fuses w the other st anyway, check the kicker panel to see if any are blown either, most likely you messed the battery up

OK, tried using my ST's battery, but no difference. Tested all the fuses on both sides. Still nothing! Her battery worked in my car, so we just left it that way. I did not think about the kick panel fuses, thanks! Also, my standard st's clutch is giving out a little....Is $90+$20 shipping a good deal for a new clutch kit? Saw it on ebay, was wondering if you guys knew any better deals. one the auto st, it seems that when you turn the key, everyting cuts off. Is that normal, or do I not see this because normally the car starts? Thanks!!

I kinda did the same thing with my John Deere and it welded the spark plug gap closed and also caused every bug that was flying over my head in my garage to fall to the ground. it was pretty cool but my lawn mower wouldnt start for anything til I replaced the spark plug.
