Hi, I have a 1995 Eagle Talon. The emergency brake at the back left tire seems to be locked up. Would someone be able to tell me how I go about axcessing the star wheel so i can adjust the shoes or is the talons e-brake a different set up.

Thanks

you can get to it by taking the rotor or drum off.

If your emergency brake is sticking then you may need to clean everythign back there and lube it up so it works properly..

I would say clean it. It most likey has grease or dirt on it so that it got stuck.

Drums, rotors don't have star wheels ;)

True, but he was talking about star wheels and shoes at the same time, therefore referring to drum style brakes. PWN3D!!!! Haha.

Speaking of OWNED/PWNED/PWN3D, we had a local car show on saturday, and there was like a 92 Stealth VR4 there had hat PWNED on the license plates, it was Ri-fucking-diculous

It might hepl if someone actually asked about his car. But judging by his discription he drives an esi manual. if it does infact have drums I cant think of any one thing that would cause it to stick other than maybe a wheel cylinder and with disks your looking at a frozen caliper. I think you can rule out the ebrake because that would effect both wheels unless if by chance the issue is when you release the ebrake and back up and the car stops dead like you hit something? This then would aslo mean that you do infact have rear drums and that would be the ebrake release spring. Sorry for all of my thoughts being compiled into one post, it made sence in my head

Yeah, how do you know it's the e-brake and not the main system?

Well the fact that he mentioned the ebrake makes me wonder. On my crx I had a problem where after I released the ebrake and tried to back u pthe left rear wheel would lock up. It all depends on wether it is an intermitent problem or a permanent one I guess
