One of only a few kits I've made, This one I bought from Ebay for £1.70..
Just wanna thank all the guys on here who contribute great tips and their expertise. My modelling has totally changed direction since I started using this site.

My first build using a compressor and airbrush.

Looks great! I am glad you appreciate the rest of us, we dig your builds a lot too! Killer paint job, you've taken to the airbrush really well, apearently.

gorgeous paintjob!

it almost looks too good for a rav4 :)

Just as Willimo said...

and might i add some constructive criticism; you might want to get rid of the moldlines on the tyres, tho...

I don't think I've ever seen one of these built before. I've always imagined that this kit would be a pretty poor quality, but either it's not that bad or you've done a really good job on it!

Is this why you were asking about window tints in another thread...?

Yes Mogster, Your right, the airfix kit is rather lacking in details but from listening to you guys and trying some new things, Its turned out not too bad, Except as you say the smoke tint which lets it down a little but I've learned from that now and i'll probably move onto Alclad as you suggested.

Thanks to Bigfrit for pointing out the tyre mouldlines... I'll check on the best way suggested to remove those As previously i used a drimmel and some sandpaper , but I found that the tyre started to crumble..
Thanks guys.

Try using wet and dry paper instead and dip the tyres in water first. I wet out the paper, and lay it out on a kitchen work surface and dip the tyres in the sink and drag them across the sheet whilst rotating them. Drop a bit of washing up liquid on the paper too to add as cutting lubricant. Certain kit tyres respond really well to this treatment.

Nice build BTW,

Nice, beautiful paint job. I would think this is a hard kit to make look this good..

Yup, too good for an Airfix kit, 'cos AFAIK it's "Aoshima Inside"! haha....
(Didn't the small prints on the box says sort of "Plastic parts made in Japan"?)
No doubt Aoshima is very good at car kits.

Same case for Airfix's MG-B Kit, it couldn't be missed. :naughty:

The smooth paint work and the clean details like the half-down window and the foil-ed side repeaters make this simple kit a standout model. Nice work!! :bigthumb:

Outstanding job on that Aoshimfix kit!!
It came out really well.
BTW I like the seat fabric - is that a kit decal or something else?

Im not sure who cast the parts to be honest. Maybe it was some other company other than airfix. You could be right.I would say though If this was Aoshima who did this it was still very basic inside.

The seat fabric was the original decals,I wasnt sure about using them at first but I tested a seat with the decal and applied a matt varnish to take some of the shine out and they seemed not too bad... A little dated for a seat pattern maybe but I tried to keep this 100% Out of the box.

Thanks for the nice comments and the tips guys.... And also to fubaz for saying about the window..
