jetta swap

ok my friend has some cash that he has been saving up and he want to pu some power into his jetta. he has the Mk4 with the disle engine in it. he wants to put a vr6 into it and boost it. he also is looking to do the auto to manual swap. since the vr6 already comes stock in this same chassis it cant be so hard right. and i wanted to know if there was different mounts or any weldeing like on the hondas i read about all day. or if you could give me a site to work with that would be great. thanks
