ok so i bought a b16 swap for my 90 honda hatch, and it all starts and runs, but then after i shut it off it wont start for a long time afterwards. but thats not the issue, the problem im having is that when i swapped the motor i needed to change speedo cables cuz the old one was broken. so i bought a new cable for a single cam motor and it fits, the problem is however, that i cant get the little cylinder out of the transmission. this is the only thing hindering my progress, cuz after this all my codes stop flashing. anyone got any suggestions?

what little cylinder? Just shove the speedo cable into the tranny. That's all that has to be done man. It doesn't have to go in that far to work. If it's still not working, it may have popped out from behind your guage cluster.

As for you car not starting after it's been running....try replacing your main relay, that is the first thing to go on these cars, and that is usually the culprit of what you described.

i have a ys1 trans and it came with a speed sensor over the top of the trans, and i took that off, but there was a little metal cylinder sitting there that i cant pull out. its literally stuck in there and im considering using vise gripes to pull it out.

I seriously don't know what you're talking about. I've swapped 100's of B motors in these car's and every time you just shove the cable in the tranny. It's never been a problem. So, I can't really help ya 'less ya get some pics for us.

its the speed sensor, it has a gear on the bottom, and the problem is the gear in the trans has the wrong number of teeth for the speedometer gear. sorry for the confusion.

you need to plug your speedo cable into the silver part and your cable should just slide right on. i just got done with my swap and all i had to do was plug it in.

i think hes talking about that whole assembly cuz he loosened the red bolt and it was stuck which is common. you shouldnt of had to change that whole thing just the cable will plug in. why is there a different gear on the motor?? did you piece it together or did you buy it from some place? when my motor came all i had to do was just remove a gear inside it and close those lines.

it isn't wrong. it's the same thing as your car. Your speedo reads revolutions regardless. The only thing that's going to make it off overall height of the tire/wheel.
Just shove the fucking cable in there and call it a day. You don't have to change dick.

i've never heard of or had to remove the speedo sensor to remove any gears or anything. just jam the bitch in there, put the clip back on to make sure it doesnt pop out, put the rubber cover over, and watch your speedo move. simple as that. why are you guys trying to make this so hard?
